Apart from the ability to instantly use your deposited tokens on any blockchain, it greatly simplifies user experience.

You don't need the native token (aka "gas") on the blockchain you want to transact on: the system will use whatever token you have on your account to buy some gas, and the transaction will be executed on your behalf.
